Feet For Cleaner Beaches

footprints-1.jpg

In March 2009, Leave Only Footprints was launched. With the ever-increasing concern of rubbish accumulating on our South African beaches, as well as the need for a sustainable strategy in the managment of this problem, the organisation strives for increased awareness, education and action that will see this problem being managed and ultimately eradicated. Our vision…to reduce the amount of litter left on our beautiful beaches which affects our marine environment. Our goal…to make sure that the public, local businesses and all our local councils acknowledge our efforts and provide us with the infrastructure we need to maintain this awareness and help cut down on the rubbish left behind. Join us, our fellow participants and anyone else who wants to come along, in helping comb our beaches for plastic, glass, paper and any other rubbish which will threaten our coast line, ocean and marine life.  Click on the Next Beach Clean-up tab to find out when and where we’ll next be meeting. And if you cant be there in person, be there in voice. Try and encourage everyone you know, and even those you don’t, to help fight this problem by being thoughtful, conscientious and forever vigilant.

Mission Statement

The Leave Only Footprints project is committed to the sustainability and enjoyment of the South African marine environment through public awareness, education and action.
